Surah Al-Infitar (الإنفطار) — The Cleaving

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتْ

82:1. When the sky breaks apart

وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ

82:2. And when the stars fall, scattering,

وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ

82:3. And when the seas are erupted

وَإِذَا ٱلْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ

82:4. And when the [contents of] graves are scattered [i.e., exposed],

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ

82:5. A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ

82:6. O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ

82:7. Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?
