Surah Al-Waqi'ah (الواقعة) — The Inevitable

Surah Al-Waqi'ah is chapter 56 of the Holy Quran. It has 96 verses and was revealed in Makkah. Read it below with Arabic text and Saheeh International English translation, with audio recitation available in the reader.

إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ

56:1. When the Occurrence occurs,

لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ

56:2. There is, at its occurrence, no denial.

خَافِضَةٌ رَّافِعَةٌ

56:3. It will bring down [some] and raise up [others].

إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ رَجًّا

56:4. When the earth is shaken with convulsion

وَبُسَّتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ بَسًّا

56:5. And the mountains are broken down, crumbling

فَكَانَتْ هَبَآءً مُّنۢبَثًّا

56:6. And become dust dispersing,

وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا ثَلَـٰثَةً

56:7. And you become [of] three kinds:
